We had a horse and cart ride around St Gilgin and Andreous was our driver (bit of alright and in tight leather) it was a lovely tour and saved our legs abit.Andreous was very friendly and spoke good english and has lived there all his life. We got to see more of austrian life, instead of just the tourist bits . The men wear leather shorts in Austria and I could not find any for grandad shame eh!

firey sunset and moonlight at midnight

The moon from our balcony very romantic

I wanted a picture of a sunset and I caught this one it looks like the sky is on fire!

Eating out in austria

The food was the first decent meal in Austria we had eaten and after four days we were hungry.

We went to a restauraunt in Saint Gilgin and you could choose which fish you wanted to eat for dinner , we chose something else to eat as we thought the fish looked so happy swimming in the tank

Vienna

It was very hot in vienna grandma tried her german out but he turned out to be italian who also spoke german. There are lots of Italians in vienna so grandma got to try her Italian as well!
You hang around with some strange people grandad. We also had a horse and cart ride around some parts of the city and went across some very bumpy cobble streets that shook grandma's tummy up .

we went to vienna and we were determined to have real vienna schnitzel and kartoffel salad to see if was like I make at home. we ended up eating it in an italian restaurant it was very tasty but grandma learnt that kartoffel just means potatoe , and potatoe salad was made in lots of different ways to her version. we also met some good street buskers dressed like statues. One of the statues got silly with grandad

shopping in Austria

This is the national costume and I tried one on in these colours Grandad bought me one for my birthday in very sleek black. the Austrains wear their national costumes on the weekend all of them are encouraged and it is very beautifull to see them wearing them little children and men and women . they don't do it for the tourists they wear it as their identity as Austrians I won't tell you how much mine cost but it was soooo expensive .

How to cool off in Saltzberg

We got very hot in Saltzberg so we had a double ice cream to cool down and very nice it was too with all sorts of flavours fresh fruits and sauces. This is how the people in Austria live in the city no gardens, so it is open cafe l and restaurants life and they mix and socialise outside especially every weekend they go to church on sunday then go out to eat for dinner.
